Transform, Progress & Cherish
(A Photographic Exhibition Held in Commemoration of the Singapore Bi-Centennial)

Singapore has undergone many transformations to progress to where we are as a nation today, and as our nation commemorates its Bi-Centennial this year, we look to our surroundings to rediscover stories that reflect what we cherish. From public performances like the Chingay to the rhythms of everyday life in the heartland, The Photographic Society of Singapore is pleased to present this series of over 100 photos taken by six of our photographers on a mission to relook our surroundings.

Armed with HUAWEI smartphones over the last three months, our photographers took to the streets to shed light on different aspects of life based on the themes from the HUAWEI “Next Image Awards” International Competition. The smartphone has become an indispensable part of how we live and share our experiences, and we hope that this exhibition can spark ideas for your own experiments on capturing unique perspectives and stories through the photographic medium.
