Street Journalism Photography by Zann

A largely self taught photographer, Zann began her first serious foray into photojournalism after the tsunami in January 2005. In less than a year, she joined WPN (World Picture News) agency in New York. She specializes in humanistic reportage, social and environmental issues.

Her works have been published in TIME magazine, Le Monde, L'epresso, Geo Italia, UNFPA and the Asian Geographic Magazine (Zann is the field editor covering the Middle East). She has held a solo exhibition at Noorderlicht 2006. Her child labor project was exhibited at the 'International Child Labor Conference' in Holland 2010.

Zann has also received Honourable Mentions for the UNICEF photographer of the year 2006, the International Photography Award (1 for 2006, 10 for IPA 2009 and 3 for IPA 2010) and PX3 Prix De La Photographie Paris 2007 and 1st for Portraiture PX2 2010 - exhibition at Espace Dupon Gallery, PAris and 2 bronze awards in 2011 for her works on the Palestinian refugees and Cambodian Glue Kids.

Zann also clinch the humanity Photo Awards UNESCO 2006 (Documentary Category). She is also one of the 5 finalists for the Care International Humanitaire Award 2007 and her work was exhibited at Visa Pour L'image 2007. In the 2009 New York Photo Festival, Zann's work on Iran and Cambodia were shown. Her work on 'Children of the Iranian revolution' was also shown at the Australian reportage 2010 and will be projected at the Angkor Photo Festival in Nov 2011.
