FIAP Distinctions (FIAP)

The Photographic Society of Singapore (PSS) is recognised as the National Federation by The International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP)

1. Applying for FIAP distinctions through a society other than that of your own country is against the rules and should not be permitted. All Singapore photographers have to apply for FIAP Honours through PSS.

2. All candidates are required to give a complete list of the salons with FIAP PATRONAGE which they obtained the specified acceptances.

3. Closing date for application of all FIAP distinctions each year will be 31st December in Singapore. Application must be send to The FIAP Liaison Officer, The Photographic Society of Singapore, 30 Selegie Road, Selegie Arts Centre, Singapore 180030.

RULES
AFIAP DISTINCTION:

A requirement of a minimum of five years participation in international and national salons with at least one hundred and fifty (150) acceptances in national and international salons under FIAP patronage. Applicant should apply only on the sixth year.

The candidate must submit the following:

a) a complete application using forms conform the models given by FIAP.

b) not less than 5 and not more then 10 photographic works of the candidate ( monochrome or colour prints of slides or a mixture ). The prints should measure 30cm X 40cm, smaller prints must be mounted on a very thin support of 30cm X 40cm. Slides must be mounted. Whether or not the distinction is awarded, the works become the property of FIAP. They will be used for the FIAP collections.

c) Fee: US $ 90.00 inclusive of postage.

EFIAP DISTINCTION:

A holder of AFIAP distinction for at least three years with a minimum of three hundred (300) acceptances in national and international salons under FIAP patronage.

The candidate must submit the following:

a) a complete application using forms conform the models given by FIAP.

b) not less than 5 and not more then 10 photographic works of the candidate ( monochrome or colour prints of slides or a mixture ). The prints should measure 30cm X 40cm, smaller prints must be mounted on a very thin support of 30cm X 40cm. Slides must be mounted. Whether or not the distinction is awarded, the works become the property of FIAP. They will be used for the FIAP collections.

c) Fee: US $90.00 inclusive of postage.

MFIAP DISTINCTION:

To be applicable for EFIAP distinction holders only. MFIAP is awarded to an artist in recognition of the whole of his achievements in the field of artistic photography.

The candidate must submit the following:

a) a completed application form given by FIAP.

b) a portfolio of 20 works ( monochrome or colour prints ). The prints should measure 30cm X 40cm, smaller prints must be mounted on a very thin support of 30cm X 40cm. A portfolio-style of presentation is required. The total weight should not exceed 2 kilograms. This collection must be coherent from its conception to its realisation and presentation. If the distinction is awarded, the profolio becomes the property of FIAP. They will be used for the FIAP exhibitions.

c) an introductory text that describes the subject and the creative conception of the photographer.

d) a passport photo 3cm x 4cm

c) a list of acceptances and prizes obtained in international salons under FIAP Patronage.

Fee: S$90.00 excluding packaging and postage.

ESFIAP DISTINCTION:

A requirement of a minimum of ten years of continuous active service, in which most of these services contributed must be involved in international level or FIAP related project. The applicant has to be actively involved with all activities organized by their club/society without any break in the years of service. Only if the applicant meets all the requirements can he/she apply on the eleventh year (subject to approval).

Applications for the ESFIAP distinction must comprise a complete dossier with a curriculum vitae and a detailed description of the services rendered by the candidate. The application should be made on a form conform the model given by FIAP.

HonEFIAP DISTINCTION:

Any extraordinary contribution of an international nature to the development of photography or of photographic art will be taken into account as will be any exceptional service that has contributed to the progress of FIAP. The HonEFIAP distinction is awarded by the Directory Board. Unanimity of the votes of the members of this Board is required.
