PSS 60th Anniversary Celebration at M Hotel

More than 200 members and friends of PSS celebrated the society's 60th anniversary at a dinner held at M Hotel's ballroom on 18 June 2011. Mr Kwek Leng Joo, Chairman of PSS Advisory Board grace the occasion as the guest of honour.

Mr Tan Soo Nam, who was conferred the PSS Honorary Life Membership in recognition for his contributions to photography was the special guest of the evening. Other guest included representatives from the sponsors who contributed prizes for the night's lucky draw.

The evening's entertainment was presented by Shawn & Gladys DanceWorld, featuring ballroom dancing by a pair of children who captivated the audience with their exciting repertoire of fluid dance moves.

Members who contributed their voluntary services were recognised with the PSS Service Awards. Those who contributed distinguished services to photograhy and PSS were the Society's Honorary Fellowship.

Prior to the finale, grand prizes by Audio & Photo Distributor (Far.East) Pte Ltd and Shiriro (Singapore) Pte Ltd given away to two lucky recipients. The night ended with a cake cutting ceremony to commemorate PSS's 60th birthday.

Warm Ties between PSS and RPST

PSS President David Tay visited The Royal Photographic Society of Thailand (RPST) on 7 July to meet its newly-elected leadership. He is impressed that RPST has rejuvenated itself and has been very active in the last couple of years; staging many exhibitions including the showcase of work by HRH Princess MahaChakri Sirinhorn. RPST has also organized overseas photo trips for its members in its endeavours to expand its influence overseas.

During Mr Tay's stay in Bangkok, the three vice presidents of RPST brought him to view "The Photos of the Kingdom 2010" Exhibition at the Siam Paragon shopping complex and presented him with a recently published pictorial book of works by RPST members.
