Course Syllabus

Lesson 1: Better Photography With Advanced Handling and Controlling

  • The Approach to Achieving Better Photography
  • Advanced Handling and Understanding of your DSLR
  • Advanced Control of Exposure and Focusing
  • Understanding the Characteristic of Your Lenses
  • Understanding Hyper Focal Distant and Depth Of Field

Lesson 2: Outdoor Practical Session 1

  • Controlling of Shutter Speed to Achieve Different Effects With Moving Subjects
  • Better Understanding of Effects Created by Different Lenses
  • Using Hyper Focal to Maximise Depth Of Field

Lesson 3: Outdoor Practical Session 2

  • Using Depth Of Field to Create Blur Bokeh in Background
  • Using Zoom Lenses to Create Special Effects
  • Understanding the Concept of “Filling In” with Your Flashlight
  • How to Create Catch Light, Back Light and Side Lighting Effect

Lesson 4: Photo Critique And Course Review

Upon completion of the course, students are required to submit a set of 6 x S8R/8R printed photographs for assessment. The instructor will brief students on submission criteria. Only successful submissions will be awarded with a course certificate.
